Christmas is such a great time to hand make gifts for friends and family! You might think it’s too much effort but honestly, there are so many DIYs that take minutes to make and would be so appreciated. Today (before it’s too late), I thought I would share some past DIYs that would be perfect for stocking stuffers this year!
Scented Sprays:
Sprays are so incredibly easy. Room, linen and car sprays are so easy and don’t require a preservative since you aren’t spraying them on yourself. Also, don’t forget a yoga mat spray is so fun and clever! Body sprays and facial toners do need a preservative so that’s why I avoid water in these recipes. In the place of water, opt for a hydrosol and/or witch hazel since they already have preservatives. Just an FYI-citrus essential oils are usually light and don’t contribute much to the overall smell. Frankincense, geranium and Ylang Ylang are very potent and will give you a lot of scent.
Moisturizing Sticks-
Seriously this is beyond easy. You could use any oil you like, you just add beeswax and you’ve got a moisturizing balm! As a rule of thumb, add 1 tbsp. of beeswax for every 1/4 cup of oil when you are making a roll-on. I love putting balms in sticks because they are so handy when it comes to cracked heels, ashy legs and hands! Find 2 ounce push up tubes HERE. I also like THESE!
A Few Other Ideas….
Homemade Vaseline-Everyone could use vaseline-especially if it’s petroleum free and mine is! This is so easy to make and can also be used to treat dry skin, is an excellent make up remover and if you mix it with a bit of salt or sugar-it makes an exfoliant!
DIY Kitten Balm-Tiger Balm Alternative-This is great for your loved ones that deal with back issues and other aches and pains. It’s another easy DIY, plus all your essential oils are from Amazon Prime.
Homemade Peppermint Lip Balm-This easy DIY can be stored in an Altoid tin and it turns out so cute!
DIY Lotion Bars-I loved this DIY-it’s really simple and unlike the stick, putting these into molds makes such a fun and festive gift!
So there you have it-a few good ideas that you still have time to put into action. All of these DIYs take about 10 minutes to make and many of these posts include cute labels!
Happy DIYing and Happy Holidays!
