Bath melts are little molds of shea butter and/or cocoa butter with essential oils added in that you can drop in your bath for extra hydration and aromatherapy! I decided to try my hand at making some and they turned out great! I bought these molds from IKEA but you can also use ice trays.
Take some time to pamper yourself! These were easy to make and made my skin very soft! My recipe made about 8 melts, my molds are smaller than ice cube trays so you be the judge on how much you want to make.
These are so cute and make great gifts!! Do warn whoever you give them to that the melts will make your body and bath tub oily so be careful when getting out of the tub!!
When adding essential oils, keep in mind that cocoa butter and shea butter have very strong scents. They will overpower the oils so if you want a strong smell you will need to use quite a bit of oil. I prefer to add the oil to my bath water. I seem to get more aromatherapy that way!
