2016 was a year of a lot of product reviews. Partly because I signed up for a beauty box subscription via Good Being so each month I received 5 new natural products! Also, I discovered 100 Percent Pure to replace Tarte. I also receive products sent by natural beauty companies wanting a review on the blog. So, this year I tried 100+ products!! I’ve rounded up my favorite that I believe are effective, are the highest quality and good down to the last drop!
Shea Moisture Peace Rose Complex Conditioner-I happened upon this conditioner while in search of a reason not to cut my hair. My hair was so dry by the end of the summer that I was contemplating cutting it. It also lacked shine and body. I found this gem at Target and within one use, my hair was dramatically improved. It smells amazing and there’s no way I would cut my hair now! It’s a complete restoration and Shea Moisture is an awesome company you can trust to keep it clean.
100% Pure Red Wine Resveratrol Scrub + Mask-Winter is hard on skin and a nourishing mask is an absolute must. I use this mask at least once a week to restore moisture. It’s full of antioxidants, vitamins and nutrients that will instantly nourish and protect your skin. It has jojoba beads that gently exfoliate so I personally use it right after the shower when dead skin can easily be removed and the pores are open and ready for nourishment.
Nourish Organic Body Wash-I just recently discovered this highly affordable yet organic skin care line. I love the Lavender Mint Body Wash! It smells amazing and foams so well for a safe body cleanser. I don’t believe DIYing cleansers (unless they are oil cleansers) will give you a good product so when I find a soap-based cleanser I stick with it.
MyChelle Dermaceuticals SPF 50 Stick-This skin care line has several AMAZING products (go HERE for my reviews on 3 of their top products) but their sun care line takes the cake. I don’t DIY sun block. For one, I can’t prove what the SPF is and that’s a huge risk. Also, it’s hard to make a DIY SPF that isn’t crazy greasy. This stick is literally magic. I used it all summer on myself and my kiddos and will purchase a new one at the start of the upcoming summer. It is easy to apply and does not leave you white. It’s very easy to blend into your skin and this is unheard of when using a physical sunblock. Plus, it’s waterproof!
100 Percent Pure Fruit Pigmented Lip Glaze-I’ve purchased several 100% Pure lipsticks since this one and I must say that this particular color and product lasts so long, goes on creamy and looks really pretty on. 100% Pure’s makeup is all fruit pigmented, 100% natural and contains nourishing ingredients like avocado oil and cocoa butter.
Orglamix Illume Enlighten Luminizer-I discovered this highlighter via Good Being beauty box and it is my favorite highlighter. I’ve used probably 4 different ones this year too. This highlighter goes on so smooth and looks so natural. Never do I realize I’ve got too much on or it’s run where it shouldn’t. Plus, it smells amazing.
Ayelli Argan Oil-This luxurious oil is simply incredible quality. I actually reached out to Ayelli hoping to try it and share it because I had heard from several other natural bloggers how amazing it was. Argan oil is such a luxurious oil but it can be so hard to find a high quality oil. It’s a potent skin moisturizer and works so well in the hair as well. Go HERE to read the full review.
To be honest, I’ve tried quite a few lovely products this year. I’ve loved the probiotic skin care line, Nayelle. I actually would’ve included the entire line but all my bottles were long gone and I haven’t re-ordered yet. Go HERE for that full review. I also have been very satisfied with all of 100 Percent Pure’s makeup. What natural products have you tried out this year that you liked? One line I’m excited to try in 2017 is Herbivore Botanicals. Their products are simple and look amazing!
xx, Jenni
Hey Jenni, I really appreciate your blog and the product recommendations that you pass along. I have been fighting the “Battle Royale” with dry skin for a year now. A first for me as I have had oily skin my entire life, but at 45, things started to change. I went into Ulta to buy one of the facial scrubs that you had recommended and allowed myself to be waylayed by their sales personnel. Then I went back on a mission to buy something that I knew had worked before to deflake my face, and I allowed myself to be talked into another product. Great cleanser, but the other was a lousy exfoliator! So, back I went and talked to no one to get that God awful expensive Philosophy Microdelivery Resurfacing Peel. It works, but needs a little boost. My Christmas, I received a FabFitFun box and in it was this interesting little product, O.R.G. Mineral Peel with Face Brightening Agents. I was quite skeptical after reading the directions, so I watched a few YouTube videos, and then I finally tried it and wow! I now have a daily exfoliator, and it’s just crazy. I have no affiliation with this company, but thought I would share it with you.
Laura-Hi! I’m excited to find out about O.R.G Mineral Peel-I’m super intrigued because it looks very good ingredient wise. Does your skin really just peel off after spraying it?! That’s crazy! I’m glad you’ve found something you like-I’m going to have to try it!
Yes! Yes, it does – just like videos. Very gently. No burning whatsoever. Just balls of skin after I wait the 3 seconds and then rub my face with my fingers. I use it almost daily right now to help keep my dryness under control, but every week, I’m still using the Philosophy product – especially if i skipped a day or 2 using the O.R.G. peel. I’m going to look and see if the body fuel is any different from the face peel, and if it’s not, then I’m getting the bigger bottle!
Hey Jenni…super helpful post! I’m curious how you liked the Nourish Organics Deodorant. Think you mentioned you were ordering it. I have been using a deodorant from a company called Evolution of Natural. It’s been really effective, but I liked the idea that Nourish had one with a vanilla scent. Also I’m interested in trying the Shea Moisture Conditioner. I have tried and liked some of their other products. Always appreciate your honest and open reviews!
