A while back I reviewed an SPF 50 stick and have used it and loved it ever since. When Mychelle Dermaceuticals, the maker of my beloved SPF stick, reached out to me to review a few more products, I didn’t have to think twice! Plus, the products they sent contain the 2 ingredients I get the most questions about, vitamin C and hyaluronic acid!
Vitamin C has many, many anti aging benefits for the skin. I have posted a couple of DIY recipes but the problem is sourcing a good vitamin C that is natural and will penetrate the skin. I honestly prefer skipping DIY vitamin C products. I think this ingredients is one to leave to the professionals. Mychelle Dermaceuticals sent me 2 products that are high in vitamin C, a daily moisturizer and an exfoliator.
Benefits of Vitamin C on the skin:
- Enhances the skin natural renewal process
- Lightens discoloration such as age/sun spots and scarring
- Protects the skin against environmental damage
- Reduces irritation
- Acts as a powerful antioxidant protecting the skin from free radical damage.
The thing about Mychelle Dermaceuticals professional Vitamin C skin care line is that it penetrates the skin deeply and you can trust it is a natural form of Vitamin C.
Perfect C Radiance Lotion:
The Perfect C Radiance Lotion contains 12% Vitamin C which helps to brighten, hydrate and protect. With consistent use, lightening of imperfections is a good possibility. It contains Plant C Stem and Licorice Extract to help further nourish and brighten the skin.
I really love this lotion. At first I wasn’t convinced but the more I use it, the more I see how effective it is. It immediately makes my skin look smooth and tightened. It wears well under makeup and hydrates nicely. I wasn’t sure if it was as moisturizing as an oil but my skin feels very hydrated after wearing it. My only issue is that the Vitamin C is so strong that if you don’t watch it, you’ll bleach your eye brows! I learned that the hard way so now I just carefully apply the lotion around my brows. After using this moisturizer for over a month, I am seeing my sun spot fading dramatically! I say sun spot because it’s the one I notice-it is so dark that it is probably mistaken as a beauty mark. So for that one to fade is a big deal!
Perfect C Pro Speed Peel:
The Perfect C Pro Speed Peel is a professional level exfoliator. It is to be used 1 time a week for 1 minute. It contains 10% Vitamin C and helps the skin look smoother, brighter while rejuvenating. This peel also contains L-Lactic Acid, Plant C-Stem™, and Retinal.
This is truly a professional grade peel. It tingles and will leave your skin a bit red. I find the redness is from blood circulation rather then irritation though. I really like this peel and find it’s quite thorough. It’s the perfect addition to your skin care routine. Read up on exfoliation HERE to see why choosing a good exfoliator is the key to younger looking skin.
Bio-Firm Hydrogel Concentrate:
This product is a 2% Hyaluronic Acid serum. Along with the HA this serum contains a potent dose of Alpine Nunatak™ Plant Stem Cells and Crocus Chrysanthus Bulb Extract that help to restore healthy tone and provide deep nourishment and hydration and help with skin elasticity.
This product instantly plumps and refreshes my skin. It’s quite the HA serum due to a 2% concentration. I find that very little is needed to cover the face and neck and if you use too much it tends to be sticky and clumps off once you put a moisturizer over it. That’s the funny thing about high quality products-only a small amount is needed for optimal results. If you over do it, you’ll end up with the opposite! I like this product very much and due to sourcing problems with hyaluronic acid powder plus inconsistency in texture-it’s nice to leave this one to the professionals as well! Plus this HA serum contains so much more then just hyaluronic acid.

Thanks for the review Jenni! I had used some of their products in the past and was pleased. So true about a little bit going a long way with high end products. Many times I feel I actually save money in the long term, both because they last longer and because I’m not throwing them away and moving on to something else!

Jenni, I am sad. I just bought all the ingredients you recommended from the sources you recommended, and am in process of making, your DIY HA serum with Vit C (L-ascorbic acid).
This from your 2013 blog post.
But I am seeing this from your blog, written in 2016:
“I have posted a couple of DIY recipes but the problem is sourcing a good vitamin C that is natural and will penetrate the skin. I honestly prefer skipping DIY vitamin C products.
due to sourcing problems with hyaluronic acid powder plus inconsistency in texture-it’s nice to leave this one to the professionals as well!”
I am wondering if I just wasted my money…
Thank you,
Carolyn
Carolyn-No need to be sad! I still love MyChelle and think their products are fabulous, especially these 2! You’ll like them!
Jenni, I guess you are saying buy from MyChelle and not make my own HA/Vit C serums with your recipes?
( just bought HMW and LMW HA and Vit C powder from the sources you recommended).
Carolyn
Carolyn-Did I misunderstand? I thought you bought Mychelle products? I always make my own Hyaluronic acid serum. I rarely make a vitamin C mainly because I don’t incorporate that in my routine but also because it can get annoying since it doesn’t have a long shelf life. You did not waste your money though-Making your own skin care is always my favorite way to go but I have some readers that prefer to buy from a store so I continue to post product reviews here and there.
