Hello everyone!  I’ve been MIA this week from the blog so I thought I’d drop in and say Hi.  This has been one of those weeks, hence no posts.  I caught a cold and it literally knocked me out!  Like, zero energy or brain action for several days.  My divorce became final yesterday so that was looming as well.  On a lighter note-things are looking up-Fall is such an exciting time for me and I definitely feel that a chapter has closed and a new and promising one is beginning!  The girls are doing great!  Sofie has adjusted beautifully to 1st grade, lost her front tooth (you can see it hanging by a thread in the pic!) and is well on her way with learning to read and subtraction!  Heidi is just a bottomless pit of hugs and new dance moves.  She’s settled into her last year at home before pre-K and has graduated from napping daily to maybe 2x a week!

h & s collageIt’s been a bit of a slow summer for the blog which is ironic since we’re now a 1 income family!  But, it has inspired me in so many ways.  I’ve rediscovered energy and love for my Etsy shop and business has picked up!  If you aren’t a fan of all my “advertising” hopefully you can understand how incredibly vital it is for me to be a success for myself and my girls in this new chapter.  I certainly would never push my homemade products on anyone, I just want those of you who are interested to be aware of any promotions!

I appreciate my readers so much, I hope you all know.  Forgive me if I share too much.  It’s just that this blog is such a gift and I feel I’m in good company!  It’s important to me that you all know the person behind the blog.  I’m an open book and above everything, I pray God will use my life experiences to help others.

Have a great weekend!

xx, Jenni

  1. Hi Jenni,
I just read your email and I am moved by your honesty and openess. I can certainly identify with you as my divorce was finalised on Tuesday past, and I also feel a weight lifted off my shoulders.
Ironically I received my kokum butter in the mail today so I can have a go at yet another recipe to hopefully improve my crinkly eyes!! I do want to add a preserative this time to this cream and living in Ireland it is more challenging to obtain ingredients to say the least.
I wish you well as a single mother and I just know that you will do extremely well in your business too.
    Love and best wishes
Fiona (49 year old mum of 5 and granny of 2) xx

    1. Fiona-I’m sorry for your divorce. I am surprised though that the actual divorce becoming final is such a nice relief. It’s a little easier to shake off all the negativity.
Good luck on your journey and thank you for sharing!
Enjoy your eye cream! Let me know how it turns out!!
Thank you for your kind words!

  2. Jenni,

Thank you for your transparency. It is truly a gift in times when people would rather not be. I am lifting you and your family up in my prayers! I love following your blog and would love to help support you through your shop. I am glad to see your business picking up and hope the very best for you!

  3. Jenni,
You are an inspiration! My life is crazy busy, and you are one of the only bloggers I consistently follow. I love how open you are. I may be on a very similar position soon. My kids are much older, but I know my life will be turned upside down. I love seeing the positive energy you put out. I am about to graduate from IIN and will be certified as a Holistic Health Coach. Once I have my blog and website up and running, I would love to review and feature some of your products. While I believe beautiful skin starts on the inside, it is so important to use pure products as well. Thanks for all you do!

    1. Elizabeth-Thank you so much! Good luck-you’ll get through it. You just gotta put all your energy into the positives and none into the negative. It’s a constant struggle because in divorce it’s hard to find the silver lining sometime! Keep me posted.
Good luck with your blog and education-That’s awesome!! I can’t wait to follow!

  4. Hey! Your girls are beautiful! Ive been thru a divorce when I was 28 and was not a pleasant experience, and yes, it was a relief, although I dindnt want for it to happen. I love you blog, ive just discovered it and all the usefull things that you are so nice to share. Hugs 🙂

  5. Hi Jenni- I wanted to let you know how inspirational you are to me and I love reading your blog in hopes that I will follow your path in life. Your girls are so beautiful and are extremely blessed to have you as their mother. I am blessed to be able to stay home with my 1 yr old and spend precious time with her. Start taking time out of everyday- even if it’s only 30 minutes- to spend with your girls so that you are having quality time with them daily. It’s hard to do this with our busy schedules, but make the time to do it! Your bond will be that much stronger with them! Thank you for creating this wonderful place where us women can come and learn about natural skincare. 💖
