It’s no secret, I’m all about a green smoothie. Greens, greens and more greens are my current mode of operation these days. I may have gained 10+ lbs in the last month or so, so I’m back on track with a few extra rides on the spin bike as well as boosting nutrition. I’ve found that when you boost nutrition, cravings seem to get in line. The more crap you eat the more crap you want, true story.
A while back I wrote THIS post about adding collagen to your smoothie. One huge benefit is that collagen is rich in protein and when added to a smoothie, you stay full much longer then if you were to not add it. It’s not hard to make a smoothie a nutritional meal replacement and adding collagen really helps. Comes in handy when you can’t zip your jeans.
Before we get started, let’s talk about why Vital Proteins, Collagen Beauty Greens are so beneficial.
Not only does it contain collagen, it also contains hyaluronic acid. Both collagen and hyaluronic acid are naturally occurring in the skin but around the age of 35ish, both substances decline dramatically. Supplementing is the way to go in order to keep skin healthy from the inside out. Beauty Greens also contains raw organic greens! This collagen has a huge amount of vitamin A as well which helps with vision, strengthening the immune system, reducing inflammation and cell healing and regrowth!
Beauty Greens also have probiotics!! Without gut health, everything falls apart. Not to mention, collagen itself is very beneficial for digestion and repairing intestinal walls when you have leaky gut syndrome.

I have been adding collagen to my smoothies for almost a year now. I can’t say enough about how much better my skin and hair look. I ran out of collagen and didn’t use it for a month or two and I just now have realized how bad my digestion got and how it very likely was due to letting my collagen lapse. Don’t you just love when you make those connections?!
Collagen Beauty Greens are the perfect additive to your smoothie. To get probiotics, hyaluronic acid, collagen and raw greens in one scoop is quite the smoothie. You can also add a scoop to cold water and gain all the benefits without making a smoothie! I will say, I’m not keen on the taste. I power through because of the insane benefits you get with this particular powder. If you know you are sensitive to tastes and aren’t a “power-through it” kinda gal, then I would highly recommend going THIS route. It has no flavor and you can mix it with a smoothie or even in your coffee. Go HERE for one of my favorite smoothie recipes that also incorporates the plain collagen.
Anyone else battling the bulge?! Any tips or tricks for me? You know it’s bad when leggings are uncomfortable! Ha!

Hey Jenni! I’m a big fan of collagen as you know, and I actually don’t mind the taste of the beauty greens mixed with water. Most days I make a big green smoothie (today was romaine, parsley, celery and lemon) and blend collagen peptides into my coffee. If I don’t have time for my green smoothie, or I’m out of greens, I just stir the beauty greens into water. I’ve been drinking green drinks for so long I think I’ve just built up to the taste. Your smoothie sounds great though, and perfect for someone who doesn’t want it to taste so “green.”
