Ready or Not-It’s Bikini Countdown Time!

Bikini Countdown

So, warm weather has hit.  It’s definitely time to shed some winter pounds and tone everything up.  If I seriously think I’m getting into a swimsuit in front of anyone besides my girls and my husband, it’s GO TIME.

I’ve mentioned before about my constant effort for achieving balance in my life.  I tend to focus on one thing and ditch the rest.  The rest mainly being exercise!  This has been a long winter with inconsistent exercise so I’ve got my work cut out for me!

I’m hoping by sharing my new routine, you all will help me with accountability and maybe my routine will inspire you to find your own, or do mine with me!

Recently I have discovered Katrina and Karena from Tone it Up.  Can I just say what a breath of fresh air they are?  Not to mention their bods are incredible.  Check out their site for fun and fast workouts and great recipes.  So I’ve chose 2 of their videos that focus on toning the abs and the butt!  I also have committed to get to the gym for cardio and leg work at least 2x a week.  The gym is so not necessary though.  Cardio outside is the best-And using leg machines aren’t necessary either-good ole squats and lunges will work just fine!

Tuesday-Booty video

Wednesday-Gym-20 minutes Peak 8 (learn about PEAK 8 HERE) on the treadmill, 15 minutes elliptical, 3 sets of 10-15 reps on leg machines. 

Thursday-Ab video

Friday-Gym-20 minutes Peak 8 on the treadmill, 15 minutes elliptical, 3 sets of 10-15 reps on leg machines.  

Saturday-Gym-20 minutes Peak 8 on the treadmill, 15 minutes stair stepper.

Addressing Food Intake:

Of course addressing food is a must if we want to see any fat loss. 

I have actually joined Weight Watchers-this has been my go-to plan in the past.  I LOVE tracking points.  This is essentially the same as counting calories or carbs.  I love how organized WW is and it keeps me right where I should be with my daily intake-not too much and not too little. 

Being a busy mom, it’s really easy to under eat or over eat-depending on the day-Mindless eating is everyone’s biggest enemy.  Weight Watchers is not necessary, but tracking is, in my opinion. 

Accountability is so key, not to mention IGNORANCE IS BLISS.  The first time I ever tracked I was so shocked at how much I was truly eating.  It was so hard for the first week-I was starving, but it opened my eyes to just how much I was grazing all day! 

Once I got my eating in check I felt so good-so in control of my body.  Seriously-if you have never tried tracking your food, give it a go-Before WW, I used the site  It’s awesome and allows you to track anything. 

Calories are an easy way to monitor exactly what’s going on, but I think carbs are excellent to help you really shape your eating and help you eat much cleaner and leaner.


Work out routine

This is not a hard core commitment.  I know myself-if I push too hard, I’ll burn out fast.  I need this to last well into the summer-Heck, I need this to last a lifetime-It’s all about lifestyle right?  After having kiddos, bar hopping just doesn’t count as cardio anymore!  It’s all about balance.  Cut back food intake, clean it up and get moving.  Moderation is important.

So, what do you guys think?  Let me know your work out plans for summer!  I don’t claim to be a fitness expert but I really don’t think this has to be rocket science.  Being fit comes from a lifestyle.  Our bodies have got to be a priority!!
