Getting Prepared for Cold & Flu Season with Spark Naturals…

Preparing for Cold and Flu Season

It’s coming…. Even though the high today is 95 degrees in September, cold and flu season is on it’s way!  I’ve been an essential oil user for about 7 years now but I must admit, sometimes I don’t know what I’m doing when it comes to fighting illness.  Luckily, Spark Naturals offers several products that are all you could possibly need to get you through the winter and prepare your family for what bug may come!  Let’s break down each product today and with the help of Spark Naturals, we’ll both learn how to properly use these products for the best possible outcome!

Spark Naturals Cold and Flu Kit

  • Cold & Flu Kit

The first item I suggest and most important is the Cold and Flu Kit.  It includes a 5 ml melaleuca, 5 ml shield and 5 ml oregano and a roll on bottle.  I’m so excited to learn how to use these 3 oils in order to strengthen your immunity and speed up recovery.

Oregano – Nature’s strongest Antibiotic
Melaleuca – Proven to fight, bacteria, virus and fungi
Shield – Spark Naturals proprietary blend created to support healthy immune function. Kills bacteria, mold and and virus.

Spark Naturals suggests you make a Cold & Flu Bomb roll on:

Combine the essential oils in a roller bottle.  At the onset of a cold, apply to the soles of your feet plus the big toe every 2 to 3 hours.  Continue to use for at least once a day after your symptoms are gone.

You can also put this recipe in a shot glass with water and shoot it or in gel caps.

  • Eucalyptus Essential Oil 5ml

Eucalyptus is a single oil and I’ve included it for it’s powerful decongestant abilities.  It is also antibacterial and antiviral and was actually used during World War 1 to keep breakouts of influenza controlled!

3 Ways to Use Eucalyptus Essential Oil:

  • Diffuse to improve concentration, relieve respiratory problems and assist with hay fever and headaches.
  • Dilute and gargle to help with sore throat.
  • Use topically to help with muscle aches and congestion.
  • Respire Blend

I’ve been using the Respire Blend for at least a year now.  It offers a lot of relief from stuffy noses and is a great diffuser blend. It is a potent blend of peppermint, melaleuca, eucalyptus, rosemary, lemon and clove essential oils.  I also will dilute this blend with coconut oil and rub all over the throat and chest.

  • Revive Salve

Revive Salve is made with eucalyptus, camphor, peppermint, lavender, organic virgin coconut oil, organic beeswax, extra virgin organic olive oil & vitamin E and is the ultimate in vapor rubs.  My girls and I go back and forth between my homemade vapor rub and Respire Stix-it just depends on which one we grab first!  I find this salve to be more healing and soothing to sore noses then the respire stix.  When we have a cold, I always apply this to our feet before bed time.  It helps with cold and flu symptoms while nourishing dry feet!

Cold and Flu Season with Spark Naturals

If you don’t have a diffuser, I highly suggest investing in one.  I have THIS and THIS one and they are both great!

I hope this post helped get you prepared!  Each of these items I’ve mentioned are sold separately.

xx, Jenni

**Since this post, I have switched essential oil companies and now prefer to use Mountain Rose Herbs essential oils.  They are unadulterated and organic, not to mention extremely affordable.  Go HERE to check them out.  I still stand behind the quality of Spark Naturals essential oils but find MRH’s commitment to quality and sustainability to be the company I prefer to use.
