DIY Firming Eye Serum with Rose & Kokum Butter

I'm happy to say, I've got my cream makin' mojo back and have created another eye serum.  This one is in a light cream form and instead of adding plain distilled water, I decided to kick it up a notch and add rose water.  Let me tell you, this is the best smelling product ever!  I've made several batches in my experimenting and have been slathering it all over me every night!  My skin has never been so soft!  I kept with my favorites, rosehip seed oil, sweet almond oil, vitamin E, lavender and … [Read more...]

Hydrating Rose Facial Spray…

So in the last few months I have been loving a certain facial spray.  I feel like it goes a long way to balance the skin, further hydrate and even calm the skin, preparing it for a moisturizer.  Many people skip a facial spray or toner because they don't understand how beneficial one can actually be for you skin.  In fact, I was kind of one of those people.  Well, I say that, really I'm just cheap and would rather spend my money on a moisturizer or a treatment rather then anything else.  It … [Read more...]

Raspberry Vanilla Lip Balm

I've really been enjoying experimenting with some "out of the ordinary" DIYs!!  I've done a couple of tinted lip balms using either lip stick or mica powder but neither coloring ingredient I enjoy using.  Cosmetic grade mica is hard to find and lipstick, if it's natural, is just to expensive to break off and throw in a pot!  I've wanted to play with using food in my DIYs but I have yet to buy a food dehydrator.  Well, come to find out, Trader Joes has the most wonderful freeze dried fruits!  And … [Read more...]

The EASIEST Lotion Recipe Anyone Can Make!!

Many of you have asked me if you can ditch the emulsifying wax in my other DIY cream recipes and use beeswax instead.  With quite the know-it-all stance, I quickly assured you that beeswax would not properly bind oil and water.  I had tried this method in my early days of experimenting with DIYs and created the most greasy, non-cohesive "cream".  It was super gross and I reluctantly had to throw away a lot of wasted ingredients. I don't know what got into me this morning but I decided to give … [Read more...]

Rejuvenating PURE Facial Oil

I want to talk a bit today about facial oils.  Many of you go nuts over a cream/moisturizer recipe-I get it.  Creams contain water which acts as a vehicle to transport the oil into the pores-does that make any sense?  Basically, when you add water to oil and emulsify it into a cream, you get a moisturizer that absorbs almost immediately.  Plus, who doesn't love a fluffy white, luxurious cream to slather on your skin?! Well, you might be wondering what my point is-My point is that creams are … [Read more...]
