My Favorite Leggings…

HUE Leggings

A few weeks ago I posted an Instagram pic mentioning I had found the “world’s best leggings ever”.  Many of you messaged me wanting to know what brand I was talking about so here we go-A whole post on leggings.  Yes, it’s necessary.

Leggings are probably my most worn article of clothing in the fall/winter season.  I’m not going to lie-I really can be so cheap.  Before this year I was wearing tights from Target and Old Navy.  By the end of the day, these tights were usually stretched out around the knee, faded and sagging.  I honestly just thought this was the nature of wearing tights and since comfort is key in my fashion, I just dealt with it.  Then I discovered the genius blog, Pinterest Told Me To.  Seriously love the heart and soul behind this blog!  She points her reader’s in the right direction when it comes to anything and everything she has personally worn.  She swore by these particular leggings and since I have come to trust her judgement, I bit the bullet and paid $40 buckos on leggings from Nordstrom.

I’m so glad I did.  Now I actually can put together a decent outfit with leggings and not worry that they are stretched out and making me look frumpy.  Since that post on Pinterest Told Me To, I have bought 5-GASP-yes, 5 pairs of HUE leggings.  Yeah, I have 2 black pairs, ultra wide waist band in dark gray, denim, and faux leather.  So much for my $10 leggings budget!

HUE leggings range from around $30-$50.  My first pair were the standard black leggings.  I have washed this pair over and over and still they look brand new.  Then I decided to try the leggings with a wider panel that helps control my gut issue….  Love these.  I feel more secure with the panel and the only reason I didn’t buy these first was because I was afraid they would be like anything that is control top and be too tight, causing stomach pains.  These are not that way-they are so comfortable.  They control with out too much restriction.  When it’s time to replace these leggings, I won’t think twice when picking up the ultra wide waistband!

The size chart is very standard.  I’m 5’8 and weigh 150ish and wear a large just to give you an idea.  I would buy the size you normally wear.

7 GOOD Reasons to Switch to HUE Leggings

  1. They are fade resistant
  2. They barely stretch
  3. They are thick, not see-through.
  4. No more baggy knees
  5. Tummy tightening panel
  6. Little to no shrinkage
  7. So far, no bobbling

leggings 1The above pic proves that these leggings hold their shape.  These pictures were taken late in the afternoon after a full day of wearing this outfit.  Absolutely no frumpy leggings here!  BYW-My sweater I LOVE.  It’s on sale from Forever 21.

Of course there is that inevitable issue of what tops to wear with leggings.  Some of us can wear tunics that skim the crotch and others of us want to COVER COVER COVER!  I think the biggest rule of thumb is to find tops that are no shorter then the bottom of the hips.  No one wants to see or share a camel toe, so cover it up!

I have linked a few of my favorite tops including my $16 go-to t-shirt/tunic, which is currently on sale for $10.  I’ve been wearing them non stop with my leggings.  I sized up on these because of shrinkage.  The XL is huge so I would suggest to buy your size and skip the dryer.  I usually tie a button down around my waist or add a longer sweater for more coverage but these tops have made my leggings habit much more doable!

So there you have it!  Take it from this cheapo-head for the HUE leggings, pay and move on.  They are worth it!  Oh and I just linked leggings below and you’re in luck-almost all of them are 30-35% off right now!  Great timing!

xx, Jenni

Sometimes I feel like you read my mind. I too LIVE in leggings. I have been buying ultra cheap ones in the kids department at target (I am barely over 5 feet tall.). I get them on sale for as low as $5. They do stretch, although not too bad. But if you factor in what I have spent buying multiple pairs I probably should just upgrade to hue. Thanks for all you do!

  2. I really want to try these leggings and they are available in plus sizes too! Thank you!
