Sexy Cinnamon Lip Plumping Scrub

Sexy cinnamon lip scrubMost of us are in pursuit of BIG LIPS.  I mean, who doesn’t want to look like Angelina Jolie, right?  Most of us, myself included, are not in the market to get lip injections-plus it really goes against this whole diy skin care thing.   Well, luckily there are alternatives that are natural and easy to do  to get that bee stung look!  One in particular is exfoliating your lips on a regular basis.   Keep reading for a quick and easy tutorial on making your own plumping lip scrub!

First off, let me explain why exfoliating plumps up lips.  By scrubbing your lips you are revving up blood flow.  Anywhere blood rushes to, the skin will swell up.  Removing dead skin will smooth out your lips, giving your lips a plumped up look.  By using a moisturizing oil as the base for our scrub, we will be nourishing the skin.  When skin is well hydrated it will appear more smooth and plump.  Finally, by adding a bit of cinnamon, your lips will become irritated-our bodies natural reaction to irritation is to become inflamed.  That’s why lip plumpers burn.

Lip Scrub

So, let’s get started!

  1. Melt 2 tbsp. of Coconut oil (find it HERE)
  2. Mix 1 tbsp. of sugar with the coconut oil
  3. Add 1 tsp. Vitamin E oil to mixture
  4. **OPTIONAL**Thoroughly mix 2 drops of Cinnamon essential oil (find it HERE) or you can also use 1 tsp. ground cinnamon, clove or cayenne pepper.
  5. Transfer to a 2 ounce container.

**I suggest you use your scrub once a week.  Too much irritation is a really bad thing.  Be sure to wash your hands afterwards, cinnamon will burn if you rub your eyes.

Follow up with your favorite lip balm and enjoy your nice plump lips!

DIY Plumping Lip Scrub

  1. Love those lips!

  2. I made this last night, do you use it while liquefied? How hard do you scrub, how long do you leave it on? Is it ok to use on chapped lips? (Whose lips aren’t chapped right now lol)

    • Lorie-You can use it at anytime. Since we only put 1 tablespoon of sugar it doesn’t get too hard. Your skin will liquefy it quickly anyway. I scrub for about a minute. I scrub hard enough that I feel it’s getting dead skin off. So not too hard-the lips are pretty delicate. Yes, chapped lips need exfoliation big time-they will take lip balm better after a good scrub. If your lips are so chapped they hurt, that’s another story. I wouldn’t want you to crack them and make them bleed. Painful!!! Thanks!

      • I made this right now lol. I’m always on the hunt for Diy lip scrubs, but I don’t like Vaseline. So this sounds great :). How long is the shelf life on this? Thanks.

  3. Hey, i love that exfoliating plumper but how long will the plump lips last?

  4. I just made this but used the recipe with a few tweaks. I used a spoonful of Vaseline, 3/4 a spoonful of paprika and 3/4 a spoonful of red cayenne pepper. It feels like its working so far!Ii just put it on though so idk.
