DIY After-Shave Spray

DIY After Shave Spray

Yesterday I made a beard serum that has multiple uses.  Today I’m making an after shave spray-again with multiple uses!  The man in your life really does need to use some type of product that will calm and heal the skin after shaving.  In fact, I admitted a few posts back that I even shave my face and this spray is perfect for closing pores as well as protecting the skin from sensitivities after shaving.  This spray is also calming for after waxing as well as a nourishing and calming facial toner!

The main purpose of after shave is to prevent those little nicks from getting infected.  They are also meant to moisturize and soften the skin.  Store bought after shaves can be filled with toxic fragrance as well as many other harmful ingredients, like alcohol.  You heard me right-alcohol.  Talk about drying out and possibly burning the skin!  Yeah, you might not get an infection from that tiny nick, but you also won’t have any skin after a while!   Making your own is so simple and it’s one DIY that you can trust to do the job.  We can use ingredients that will naturally prevent infection as well as feed your skin nourishment.

After Shave Spray

1/4 cup Witch Hazel (find it HERE)
2 TBSP. Lavender Hydrosol (find it HERE)
2 TBSP. Aloe Vera Gel (find it HERE)
7 drops Eucalyptus Essential Oil (find it HERE)
3 drops Peppermint Essential Oil (find it HERE)

To Use:

  • Spritz on freshly shaven skin.

Because witch hazel, lavender hydrosol and aloe vera gel all have preservatives, there is no need for a preservative.  The shelf life of this product is about 3 mos.  I used a 4 ounce spray bottle like THIS.

I chose witch hazel because of it’s balancing properties.  It’s excellent for restoring pH and tightening the pores.  Lavender hydrosol and aloe vera gel are both very healing and calming.  Eucalyptus and peppermint are refreshing, cooling and antibacterial which is helpful for nicks.

DIY After Shave Spray>>The ingredients I have linked are high quality.  Remember-if you want to make a good product, you have to get the right ingredients!  Otherwise, what’s the point?  I get my aloe, hydrosol and witch hazel from Mountain Rose Herb.  My essential oil company of choice is Spark Naturals.  Use coupon code JENNIRAINCLOUD for 1o% off your order.<<

Don’t forget the label!  Just save this pic to your computer then upload it to Avery.  I use labels 22806.  Find them HERE.
